A LinkedIn Lead Gen Form for an office fit-out consultation is submitted by Deepak Kulkarni; in the planned version it becomes a lead with his company and job title in their own fields, the form's consent checkbox is recorded as consent, and the lead is assigned to Kavya Iyer.

THE PROBLEM

Where LinkedIn leads get stuck today

See how it's fixed
  1. B2B leads parked in Campaign Manager

LinkedIn keeps Lead Gen Form submissions for you to download. For a team selling to businesses, the most valuable enquiries of the week can sit in a file nobody has opened while the buyer's interest cools.

  2. Job titles and companies retyped by hand

The reason to advertise on LinkedIn is the detail: company, seniority, job title. When leads move by spreadsheet, that detail gets trimmed, mistyped or dropped before a rep ever reads it.

  3. No link back to the campaign

Once a download is imported, nothing on the lead says which campaign or form it came from, so the team can't tell the webinar sign-ups from the demo requests they paid far more to win.

PLANNED

Lead Gen Form submissions, planned to become leads

The plan is to connect your LinkedIn Campaign Manager account, choose the Lead Gen Forms you want, and match their questions to lead fields once. From then on, each submission will be created as a lead in DigiPix Flow, beside your website, Google and Meta leads, without anyone downloading a file.

  • Planned: connect Campaign Manager once
  • Planned: choose which forms to bring across
  • Planned: questions matched to lead fields
  • Coming soon, and not built yet

PLANNED

Deduplicated and routed like every other lead

LinkedIn leads are planned to go through the same intake as the sources that work today: checked against the leads you already have, given a starting status and tags, assigned by your rules and scored. Nobody will need a separate process for the leads that happen to come from LinkedIn.

  • Planned: your duplicate rules applied
  • Planned: assigned by the rules you already use
  • Planned: scored like leads from other sources
  • One lead list for every channel

WORKS TODAY

Tag your LinkedIn links and send them to your form

You can capture LinkedIn traffic now. Point your LinkedIn ads and posts at a page with the DigiPix Flow form, or at a hosted form link, and add UTM tags such as utm_source=linkedin to the link. Each lead then records the tags, the landing page and the referrer, so your team can see it started on LinkedIn.

  • UTM tags on LinkedIn ad and post links
  • Your website form or a hosted form link
  • Landing page and referrer kept on the lead
  • Shown in the lead's capture details

An example of what works today: a LinkedIn ad link tagged with utm_source linkedin, utm_medium paid-social and utm_campaign office-fitout pointing at a website page with the DigiPix Flow form, and the lead it created showing those tags and a LinkedIn referrer.

LinkedIn Ads questions, answered

Can I connect LinkedIn Ads today?

Not yet. The LinkedIn Ads connection is coming soon and isn't built yet. Today you can send LinkedIn ads and posts to a DigiPix Flow form with UTM tags on the link, so the leads they bring in show that they started on LinkedIn.

What will the LinkedIn Ads connection do?

The plan is to create a lead for each Lead Gen Form submission, with the form's answers, the consent checkboxes the buyer ticked and the IDs of the campaign and form, then deduplicate, assign and score it like every other lead.

How do I capture LinkedIn traffic in the meantime?

Point your LinkedIn ads or posts at a page with the DigiPix Flow form, or at a hosted form link, and add UTM tags such as utm_source=linkedin and utm_campaign to the link. The tags, landing page and referrer are kept on each lead.

Will it bring in leads from before I connect?

That hasn't been decided. For now, download earlier submissions from Campaign Manager if you need them, and use the CSV import to bring them in.

Will LinkedIn leads be checked for duplicates and assigned?

That is the plan. LinkedIn leads are planned to go through the same intake as the sources that work today: checked against the leads you already have, given a starting status and tags, assigned by your rules and scored. The connection isn't built yet.
